Abstract

The author calls for the recognition of AI-generated content as cultural expressions under the terms of the 2005 UNESCO Convention. It also discusses the benefits and risks of using artificial intelligence technology for the diversity of cultural expressions and the state of EU primary law on cultural diversity. Critical comments on the draft EU Regulation on Artificial Intelligence are also presented in the context of this draft, in order to provide an adequate response to the benefits and risks identified above.
