At the turn of 2023/2024, several bills were submitted to the Polish Parliament that aim to expand the scope of legally permissible termination of pregnancy. The solutions they propose are diverse. On the one hand, they contain quite moderate proposals for restoring the so-called "abortion compromise" in Poland by introducing a eugenic ground for terminating pregnancy. The article aims to assess the solutions contained in these projects regarding the issue of criminal law protection of human life during prenatal development, taking into account constitutional standards, their systemic coherence and the principles of correct legislation.
