In the Polish legal system, a military will is a special form of will. Its validity is subject to the fulfillment of several formal conditions, including subjective and temporal conditions, which are generally regulated by Article 954 of the Civil Code. The legal delegation provided for in this article was implemented by the decree of the Minister of National Defence of January 30, 1965, which introduced four forms of military wills. However, the regulations adopted more than half a century ago do not meet the needs of modern society. For this reason, a government project has recently been prepared to amend the law of succession in order to respond to current social needs and to eliminate or at least reduce the risk of negative events in the legal system. A critical assessment of this project is the subject of this study.
