This paper addresses conflict-of-law and jurisdiction issues relating to cross-border employment relationships between Poland and Ukraine, in light of the intensified forced migration triggered by Russia’s aggression against Ukraine in 2022. The sudden influx of Ukrainian nationals into Poland has led to a significant increase in international employment relationships, necessitating the determination of applicable laws and jurisdictions for related disputes. A key part of the analysis compares two legal instruments: the Rome I Regulation and the 1993 bilateral convention between Poland and Ukraine on legal assistance and legal relations in civil and criminal matters.
