Court of Justice’s (New) Powers: 2024 Reform of its Statute

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to present the main issues relating to the reform of the Statute of the General Court of the CJEU under Regulation 2024/2019. The structure of the article includes the origins of the General Court; the legal basis of the General Court; and the scope of the General Court after the amendment of the Statute of the CJEU in 2024 under Regulation 2024/2019. Using a dogmatic research method, the author analyses the individual provisions of Regulation 2024/2019. In the final part of the study, the author gives a final assessment of the reform of the CJEU under Regulation 2024/2019.
