Today’s Prison Abolition Movement

Abstract

The idea of the prison abolition movement is present in the fields of the theory of criminal law, criminology, and social movements. The author presents abolitionist concepts articulated today. The author also focuses on the political tactics of the supporters of abolitionism and the alternatives to prison. The article contains references to abolitionism based on racial justice, healthcare policy, revalidation, feminism, LGBTQ+, anarchism, ecology and immigration policy.
