W rozpoczętej w 2018 r. wojnie handlowej między Stanami Zjednoczonymi a Chińską Republiką Ludową, krytycznie wzrosła rola globalnych łańcuchów dostaw, co znalazło odzwierciedlenie w prawie federalnym Stanów Zjednoczonych. Celem artykułu jest zweryfikowanie hipotezy, że bezpieczeństwo zarządzania łańcuchami dostaw jest jednym z najbardziej kluczowych komponentów strategii zarządzania globalnymi łańcuchami dostaw Stanów Zjednoczonych, które to bezpieczeństwo może być w sposób istotny zapewnione poprzez pokonanie trzech najbardziej istotnych i dominujących wyzwań takich jak odporność, zmienność i złożoność. Wyzwania te znalazły swoje miejsce nie tylko w politykach publicznych, ale również w prawie federalnym, co czyni je fundamentem strategicznego podejścia. Działania planistyczne, wdrożeniowe i koordynacyjne są systematycznie rozwijane, a ich wspólnym mianownikiem staje się wykorzystanie sztucznej inteligencji w celu predykcji, adaptacji i integracji danych, co umożliwia redefinicję globalnych łańcuchów dostaw Stanów Zjednoczonych.
