The Constitution of the Republic of Poland protects property and the right of inheritance which is one of the fundamental constitutional rights. Any legislative
changes in this regard should include the broad constitutional protection of these rights. The author attempts to answer the question of whether the proposed changes to the provisions of Book IV of the Civil Code fall within the scope of the constitutional protection of the right to property and inheritance.
